I originally had a web hosting package that included 5 domains. Well, I outgrew it, so the only way to get more than 5 was to buy into another hosting package, they won't upgrade it (don't ask me why). So I had to migrate all my domains to the new site. This one was the toughest because it's HUGE. Close to 6 gigs with all the images and stuff. I had to relocate the MySQL databases too, which I hate doing. I got all that worked out yesterday, and the move will hopefully be smooth today. I forced my DNS to this site, so I know it works, but I think some of the DNS pointers are still going to the old site.

Whatever, if you see this, post away. Get nuts. Celebrate by posting a whole lot of stuff in the forums. That would be cool.

I have two accounts through an ISP. I had them all on one of them, but I couldn't "fit" all the domains I host on it (I have 6 domain names, and they only allowed 5). So I had to buy a new account (one that has unlimited domains). Since I was in the hospital so much, I never got around to moving flambore.com to the new account. I've been paying double for all those months because I have two accounts. So yesterday, I finally made the move. Now I can get rid of the account formerly housing flambore.com.

I can't believe how fast and easy it was to move this one tho. Since they were both in the same building, probably inches away from each other on separate servers, the transfer of this site was really fast.

For me to download the whole site would take hours. The whole site is like 5 gigs or so. It took about 3 minutes to transfer the whole archive file from one site to the other. That was sweet. I imported the SQL database, and then everything came up as I hoped. Smoothest move I've had yet.

Anyway, things should be back to normal, so go ahead and post and stuff. Smile

I remeber some of the problems from the past.. But I think those were hosts or something till you found the people you have now...

Yea, Westhost is the company I use now. They're a little more expensive than some, but their support is excellent.

'Nother little burp today. My flambore-at-flambore.com email address isn't working, and to make a long story short, I ended up deleting the entire flambore.com web site directory (because it was the home FTP directory for that email account). So I had to ask Westhost tech support to restore the flambore site back from yesterday's backup. Fortunately, nothing was lost on the forums and comments because that's a MySQL database, which I didn't delete.

So anyway, if you saw an apache screen instead of flambore.com, that's why. It's all better now.

Nope. That was saait. Dedicated servers are really expensive. Even semi-dedicated servers are expensive. But Saait had advertising, I don't. I make no money off this site, so I do what I can afford. Now I have 6 domains on my VPS (virtual private server). The only thing dedicated about it is the IP address. Smile
